A New Chapter Takes Flight: Galana Enters Aviation

There is a new destination on Galana Energies’ journey.
On 4 July, Galana officially commenced into-plane aviation refuelling operations at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), marking our entry into a new and exciting area of business.
For a company that has spent more than two decades keeping motorists, businesses and industries moving, aviation represents another step in the evolution of the Galana story.
Simply put, into-plane refueling is the process of delivering aviation fuel — in this case Jet A-1 — safely and efficiently into an aircraft.
At JKIA, Galana has partnered with OLA Energy as our into-plane service provider, supporting the physical delivery of aviation fuel into aircraft on our behalf.
It may sound straightforward, but aviation operates in an environment where safety, product quality, reliability and operational discipline are critical. Every refueling must be handled to the standards required by the aviation industry.
That makes our entry into this space an important milestone for Galana.
Since operations began, Galana has already had the opportunity to serve a diverse mix of aviation customers, including passenger, cargo, charter and specialized aviation operations.
We have deliberately left individual customer names out of this story. What matters most is what these first operations represent: Galana is building experience and establishing its presence in a highly specialised segment of the energy industry.
Every aircraft refuelled is an opportunity to demonstrate our capability, build relationships and strengthen confidence in Galana as a dependable aviation fuel partner.
And our aviation journey does not end at JKIA.
In addition to into-plane operations, Galana has successfully supplied Jet A-1 in bulk to an aviation customer operating across Kenyan airports. Work is also progressing on hospitality arrangements that would broaden our ability to serve aviation customers at Wilson Airport and Moi International Airport, extending our reach beyond JKIA.
This creates an opportunity to progressively build a broader aviation business serving customers across some of Kenya's key aviation hubs.
For Galana aviation is another example of how our business continues to evolve.
We may be best known for the Galana stations our customers see across the country, but our business reaches far beyond the forecourt. Entering aviation adds another dimension to that story and demonstrates our ability to pursue new opportunities while building on the experience we have developed over more than two decades in the petroleum sector.
There is still much more to build, but 4 July marked an important beginning.
From fueling journeys on Kenya's roads to now helping keep aircraft moving in our skies, Galana is entering another exciting chapter.
The journey continues — and this time, we're taking to the skies.
