Our Story
In June 2000, three friends walked into a small office at Palm House in Nairobi with little more than conviction. George Kahira understood the petroleum business. Sheetal Khanna brought the precision of a pharmacist. Joseph Mburu came armed with business and insurance experience.
Three people from different worlds sat at one table in that small office, with ambition, unreasonable confidence and a desire to build something of their own. Something local. Something Kenyan. They started with fuel and a handful of customers, doing the unglamorous work of showing up, delivering what they promised and earning enough trust to be called again. The stations, the imports, the growth of the last two decades—all that came later.
Looking back, 26 years later, it is easy to imagine Galana was always destined to become what it is today. But really, it is the legacy of three friends who decided to bet on each other.
